Do you have minimum stay requirements?

For the most part, we do not have any minimum stay requirements.
Exceptions: Certain weekends and hunting packages are based on a 7 night stay.

 

What about fishing?

The beautiful Dolores River runs right through the ranch property and is stocked right at our bridge! There are also numerous areas near the Ranch where one can fly fish on a beautiful mountain stream. You will need a fishing license which can be purchased at our front desk. We recommend you bring your fishing gear with you if you are an avid fisherman. We do have spinning rods available for just $7/day. We can also arrange a guided trip for you with a local guide who will be happy to take you out to some of their favorite spots.

 

Can we go white water rafting?

Yes. There are great rafting opportunities in our area. We highly recommend the folks at Mild to Wild rafting for your next river trip.

 

Are you open year round?

We are open May – Mid November. September through mid November we are open for our hunting season. For non hunters, cabins can be booked in between hunting seasons, Sept. 25 – Oct. 11, 2012, a beautiful time to visit this area of our state with the changing of the colors in full array.

 

Where is the best place to fly into?

Cortez and Telluride are the closest airports to us (35 – 45 miles), with Durango and Montrose next in line. See the map section of this site for directions and a map.

 

How far are you from Mesa Verde National Park?

We are located about an hour’s drive from the entrance to the park. See the map section of this site for directions and a map.

 

What about smoking?

All rooms at Circle K Ranch are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside.

 

What is your alcohol policy?

Alcoholic beverages are not sold or served. Guests who desire may bring some alcoholic beverages and consume them in the privacy of their cabins.

 

Does your rate include all meals?

Our rates are based on lodging only. You can add a full meal plan option to your reservation or individual meals, whichever you prefer. We have designed it this way so that you can put together a stay that fits your style and budget the best.

 

Is maid service included with our stay?

In order to keep our rates reasonable, our rooms and cabins are housekeeping cabins and do not include daily maid service. If you need fresh linens or towels we are happy to accommodate you during your stay. Towels can be traded for fresh ones at our front desk.

 

Can those guests with experienced riding ability go on faster rides?

Our trails wind through the amazing high country of the San Juan Mountains, but they are not conducive to loping. Even the most advanced rider will thoroughly enjoy the challenging terrain and beauty of the area though they are not fast rides. We have a large variety of trails available to us and terrain suited for beginner through advanced riders. We do our best to set you up with a riding experience that will be a truly rewarding and unforgettable one.

 

Are their phones in the rooms or cabins?

No, however, there is cell phone reception at the ranch and a phone in the lobby for local calls, 800 numbers and prepaid phone cards.

 

Is there internet access?

Yes, we have FREE wi-fi throughout the ranch property.

 

Is golf available anywhere nearby?

Yes, there are two highly rated golf courses, each within 35 miles of the ranch. Cortez Municipal Golf Course and Telluride Ski and Golf Co. course in the mountain village of Telluride.

 

Do you have laundry facilities?

Yes! We have coin operated washing machines and dryers. Laundry soap is available for purchase at our front desk.

 

Do you allow pets?

Yes, we do allow pets with well behaved owners in some of our lodging facilities. We do ask that they not be left in your room unattended and when they are out that you keep them on a leash at all times and clean up after them. Only quiet and well behaved pets please.

 

We do charge a $10/night fee for each pet + an additional $50 refundable damage deposit on your room.
